Township Website Provider-13.jpg

Local organizations and residents may reserve the Hobart Town Hall for meetings, graduation parties, reunions, birthday parties, etc. It is available for township residents to use free of charge. There is a $100 cleaning deposit that will be returned if the facility is cleaned up after the event.

The 3,200 square foot steel building is handicapped-accessible, has running water, bathroom facilities, a storage area for township supplies, such as road markers, and an office. The town hall seats about 100 people; tables and chairs are available, as is the use of a kitchen that offers a fridge and oven.

A Brief History

The first election in Hobart Township was held at the home of N. Henry on July 22, 1871.  In 1904 our first town hall was built.  It remained in use for 110 years until 2014 when our current town hall was completed at a cost of $250,000. It was approved and funded over two years, $100,000 then another $150,000 the following year. The old town hall was acquired by a local Amish family
